Luanda - Angolan Executive Friday announced plans to acquire, in a first phase, 500 freight vehicles to support the rural goods transport operators in the country.
The decision emerged from the Cabinet Council’s Economic Commission meeting, chaired by the President João Lourenço.
In its final communiqué, the Cabinet sets out the rules for the acquisition and management of vehicles, but it would not specify the purchase date.
The initiative aims to support activity in the field, increasing the capacity to transport goods from production areas to consumption centers.
With an average capacity of 6.5 tonnes, the vehicles will be sold to freight transport operators across the country and will be paid by installments.
The session also approved the proposed Regulation for the Use of Earthmoving Kits, a document that regulates the use and assignment of the sets of equipment distributed to provincial governments for the repair and maintenance of roads.
As for the public finances, the Economic Commission approved the Annual Debt Plan for the Year 2021.
This is the document that materializes the financing strategy as part of the execution process of the General State Budget for 2021.
