Luanda - Port of Luanda has reported an increase of AKz 79.5 billion in 2020, representing an increase of Kz 29.8 billion (60%) compared to the business activity of 2019.

In 2019, the Port of Luanda collected 49.7 billion kwanzas in its business activity, according to the company’s financial report reached Angop on Monday.

The document put at 27.1 billion the net result of Porto in 2020, while in 2019 it reached Kz 15.7 billion,  an increase of 11.3 million kwanzas (72 percent) .

As for the movement of ships, the document mentioned 501 long-haul vessels, as having made stop over at Port of Luanda in 2020, less three compared to the previous year, representing a decrease of one percent.

While the container cargo reached 5.4 million tons, having decreased by 614, 191 tons, which represents a decrease of 10 percent in relation to the same period in the previous year.

As for non-container cargo, it pointed to 830, 403 tons, having increased by 327, 222 tons, which represents a 65% growth in relation to the same period in the previous year.

Solid bulk drooped 32 percent.

In general, 419, 897 tons were handled, representing a decrease of 193, 427 tons, in relation to the previous period.

In financial terms, port revenues for the first quarter of this year stood at  20.2 billion kwanzas.

In relation to the production, in the first quarter of 2021, the Port of Luanda recorded an overall production of 1.6 million tons, while in the same period of the year 2020 it registered an overall production of 1.5 million tons. There was an increase of 61, 061 tons (4%) compared to the previous year.
