Luanda - The National Police (PN) seized 25 boats, for violation of maritime regulations, as well as three boats, for transgression of fishing rules, as part of the "Operation Kianda", held from 5 to 19 June, along the seashore of Luanda.
According to the spokesman for the National Police, Mateus Rodrigues, the seizures of these boats were due to the sailors sailing without documentation and life jackets on board, as well as presenting an expired fishing licence, expired documents and the lack of a ship's name and registration number.
Making a pre-assessment of Operation Kianda, the spokesman said that in the same period the PN officers also seized 15 boat engines.
In the same way, 11 national citizens were arrested, with emphasis on three criminals who were caught in the act, whilst carrying out a robbery on a ship anchored in the Bay of Luanda.
With these arrests and seizures, the National Police ensures the reduction of the feeling of insecurity of citizens, especially sailors and fishermen.
