Ramiros – Matters linked to the construction of resistant housing and infrastructure, that do not compromises the environment, dominated the meeting between technicians from the Ministry of Public Works, Urbanisation and Housing (MINOPUH) and of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), held Tuesday in Luanda Province.
As part of the reinforcement of cooperation between the two institutions, the meeting, preceded by a verification visit at Boa Vida Urbanization Project and also addressed the need for constructions to correspond to the local reality.
According to the secretary of State for Public Works, Manuel José d`Abril, the objective is to evaluate the effort that the government has made, together with social partners, to respond to challenges in different segments of society.
In turn, the regional director of UN-HABITAT, Oumar Sylla, considered exemplary the work carried out by the Angolan Government and partners in this regard, due to the demographic improvement occurring worldwide.
He reaffirmed the support of this UN agency for the government's efforts in relation to housing and its sustainability, taking into account climate variations.
The programme, part of the "Urban October" programme of the Ministry of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing (MINOPUH), also included visits to the city of Kilamba, the KK 5000 and Zango 5 housing projects.
Meanwhile, Boa Vida urbanization Project has existed for 10 years and has 24 housing complexes and 9,000 workers.
