Viana - The minister of Industry and Trade, Victor Fernandes, on Saturday in the Municipality of Viana, Luanda, praised the "Joint Venture" between Refriango and Pascual company, for the implementation of a dairy production line in the country.
The minister considered the partnership of "extreme importance", one Angolan and another of Spanish origin, which share the same values and employ many people.
The minister made these statement to the press during the inauguration of the new production line of Pascual milk to be produced by Refriango, which generated 150 new jobs.
The minister said it is still premature to make an evaluation of the operation line that will generate self-sufficiency in milk production.
The minister explained that 90 percent of the dairy products that Angolans consume are imported, having expressed hope with the results of the partnership in the reduction of the import levels of this product.
The minister assured that several factories will soon be opened in the country, having encouraged new investors to bet on the Angolan market.
The international director of Pascual, Tomás Meledezi, on his turn, showed himself motivated with the milk manufacture in Angola, which resulted from a 5 million US dollars investment.
Meledezi added that in a first phase at least six million liters will be produced annually.
Tomás Meledezi considered Refriango a great company that has all the parameters to develop this business in the country.
Diogo Caldas, Refriango CEO, said that over the years the company has sought to develop the industrial sector and contribute to the development of the country.
He added that in Angola the dairy sector still lacks investments, so they bet on a partnership with Pascual.
