Malanje- The Minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João, considered today, Friday, in the municipality of Cacuso, the tourism and productive potential of Malanje province, as factors of sustainable development.
He referred that the current production structure in Malanje is efficient, lacking only more investment in mechanised agriculture to articulate with the already existing large scale agricultural projects.
The official made this statement at the end of a two-day working visit to Malanje province to assess the implementation of the Programmes for the Reconversion of the Informal Economy (PREI) and of Support for Production, Diversification of Exports and Substitution of Imports (PRODESI), as well as of the Credit Support Project (PAC).
He noted the need for the beneficiaries of these investments included in the Angola Invest project to focus on more modern agriculture with a view to increasing national production, towards industrialisation of foodstuffs.
"Malanje has enormous potential, not only in the production sector, but also in tourism, which can transform the province into a revolving plate in terms of production," he said.
On the other hand, Mário Caetano João, made it known that the Ministry hired a consulting company to evaluate the agricultural projects financed by the government, with a view to recover possible failed investments, in order to restart production.
