Luanda hosts third edition of 2024 Startup Angola Summit

Luanda – At least 150 startups will take part from May 16 to 18 in the third edition of Startup Summit 2024 in Angolan capital, Luanda, which aims to strengthen the country's entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Promoted by the National Institute for the Support of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (INAPEM), in partnership with the mobile phone company Unitel, the event is to run under the motto "Fostering new business models and verticals to diversify the economy".

A start-up is a young and innovative company focused on creating a business model to offer solutions to specific challenges.

According to INAPEM's executive director, Bráulio Augusto, 5,000 visitors are expected to attend the three-day event.

He added that the event aims to reinforce Angola's position as a regional African benchmark for innovation and to strengthen the country's entrepreneurial ecosystem, as well as creating vehicles and attracting investment for national startups.

This year's edition, the event will bring together more than 45 national and international speakers who, among other topics, will discuss entrepreneurship, sales strategy and partnerships.

Unitel's senior innovation manager, Henrique Costa, said that contacts have already been made with all the certified incubators in the country to take part in the event.

Henrique Costa revealed that this year´s edition will hold various conferences at the Startup Summit, from women's entrepreneurship to high technology, as well as the sharing of tools by the existing startups.
