ANPG records accentuated profit drop in closing financial year

Luanda - The net profit of the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANGP) was settled at 55.18 billion kwanzas in 2021, a drop of 155.04 billion kwanzas (about 74%) compared to 2020.

According to its 2021 Management Report and Accounts, to which ANGOP had access on its website, the net income of the National Concessionaire in 2020 was 210.2 billion kwanzas.

 

The operating costs totalled 116.49 billion kwanzas.

 

The ANPG said that expenses with staff and other operating costs were the main cost elements, with a percentage weight of 44% and 54%, respectively.

 

Regarding operating income, the ANPG recorded income of just over 219 billion kwanzas, an increase of 101.billion kwanzas, compared to the same period of the previous year. 

 

On exports, the surveys carried out have reached a totalled 410.115,196 barrels, of which 96% represent actual exports and 4% correspond to deliveries to the Luanda refinery.

 

From the surveys carried out, the 102.708,639 barrels (around 20%) were withdrawn by the National Concessionaire and the remaining 80%, 307.406,556 barrels, were distributed among the contractor groups.

 

The three branches, with the highest volumes, were Dahlia, Mustard and Cabinda, representing about 31%.

 

Production down 12%

 

Oil production, in the 16 active oil concessions, was 410,426,767 barrels, corresponding to an average of 1,124,457 barrels of oil per day, against the expected 1,130,092 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).

 

Compared with the previous year, when production was 1,271,460 BOPD, there was a reduction of about 12%.

 

Despite the drop, the 16 oil concessions active in the national territory in 2021 had an operational efficiency of the installations in the order of 90.58%, an increase of over 3.5% when compared to the same period of the previous year.

 

Gas production was 1,003,934 million cubic feet, corresponding to a daily average of 2.751 million cubic feet per day (MMSCFD), 15,61% below the annual forecast of 3.260 MMSCFD.

 

When compared to 2020 production (3.007 MMSCFD), the levels recorded represent a reduction of 8.5%. 

 

 

According to ANPG, the fall in production was eased with the entry into production of six projects in 2021, which added to base production, approximately 19.000 BOPD, with particular emphasis on Block 17, whose projects accounted for 63% of the incremental volume.

 

The National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANGP) was created in 2019, by Presidential Decree 49/19, of 6 February, as a result of the programme to reorganise the oil sector in Angola.
