Ondjiva – At least 238,190 heads of cattle were vaccinated against different animal diseases in the southern Cunene Province, during a campaign that is taking since last may in this region.
The information was given this Tuesday to ANGOP, by the provincial department head of veterinary services in Cunene, Cláudio Simão, who assured that the campaign is happening in a normal and reasonable way.
He said the intention is to vaccinate about 900,000 heads of cattle, however, due to shortage of vaccines it will not be possible to achieve such figure.
“Unfortunately, the amounts of vaccines that we’ve received were inferior to what the province planned (...)”, explained the source.
Cláudio Simão went on to disclose that the process will run until the end of July and it counts on the participation of 120 technicians.
He also informed that alongside this cattle operation, the province is also vaccinating dogs and cats against rabies.
