Huambo - The Huambo government plans to implement a strategy for the rapid infrastructure development of the Caála Industrial Development Centre, with 1, 87 hectares available, said the local deputy governor for the Political, Social and Economic sector, Angelino Elavoco.

The politician said the idea is to easily concentrate more industries there, so that the region once again becomes the second largest industrial centre in the country, after Luanda and attract more national and foreign investors.

Elavoco said that every effort is being made to achieve this goal, especially in terms of guaranteeing quality electricity, which has still conditioned the development, so as to improve the quality of the work of the industries in operation and those that could enter further.

Angelino Edmundo Elavoco explained that the infrastructure equipment, both in the field of energy production and in the production and treatment of drinking water and wastewater and other existing needs, requires a huge amount of resources, which, if it isn't for a line of funding, will make it difficult to move forward with the project.

The official said that the Caála Industrial Development Centre has 36 plots planned, six of which are already occupied by operating factories, while the others are dependent on the basic conditions being created.

Situated in an area adjacent to the Benguela Railway, the pole is an asset for investors, as it allows raw materials and other goods to be transported from the Port of Lobito to Huambo province in a short time and without constraints.  ZZN/JSV/ALH/TED/AMP
