Luanda – At least 630 exhibitors, including companies from 15 countries, have confirmed their presence in the 37th edition of the International Luanda Fair (Filda/2022), set to take place on July 16 to 20 in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), in Luanda.
A press release from the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), which promotes the event in partnership with the company "Eventos Arena", states that the event was initially planned for July 12 to 16, however it has been rescheduled for after the period of national mourning which the country is observing in memory of the late President of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos.
"To the business, government and diplomatic exhibitors we ask for your utmost understanding and apologies for any constraints that the rescheduling may cause in the circumstances", the document says.
The fair, valued at 275 million kwanzas, is expected to display among others, technological components, food and various products, as well as training and capacity building seminars for entrepreneurs on issues on innovation and information technology.
According to the organization, the "Startup Summit 2022" represents an opportunity for young entrepreneurs who have a relevant role in the process of diversification of the economy, contributing to human innovation and organizational and technological development.
One of the greatest surprises of the fair will be the display of the reformulated "Made in Angola" stamp, which will be more recognizable and able to grant greater valorization of goods and services supplied with high national incorporation, besides granting security.
The fair is part of the Angolan Government's actions to accomplish the state's functions as a great stimulator of the national economy's diversification process.
FILDA was initially scheduled for July 12 to 16, being postponed due to the death of the former President of Angola that occurred on July 8.
In 2021, FILDA took place in an area of 28 000 square meters, with 750 exhibitors, 18 countries and 18 000 visitors.
The 36th edition of the FILDA held in 2021, brought together at least 300 national exhibitors and focused on the technology sector, supporting the development of agribusiness and industry.
The first edition of the Luanda International Fair took place in 1983.
