ENDE to recover KZ 2.5 billion in debts in Lunda-Norte

Dundo - Customers of the National Energy Distribution Company (ENDE) in Lunda-Norte Province have an accumulated debt of 2.5 billion kwanzas (US$3.001.100), contracted over the last five years.

The information was provided this Monday, in Dundo, by the Company's provincial director, António Maria, during an awareness campaign and negotiations for debt repayment by customers.

According to António Maria, these are private companies in the commerce and services sector, private (domestic) and medium voltage customers, whose debts can be paid in installments and/or in installments without interruption of the electricity supply.

He highlighted that the debt accumulated by private (domestic) customers goes up to 1.5 billion kwanzas (US$ 1.800.660).

On the other hand, he made it known that the implementation of a new low voltage network of around 7.2 kilometers is underway and the installation of four transformation stations that will allow a thousand new household connections with prepaid meters in the city of Dundo.

He added that in the municipality of Lucapa, a new medium voltage distribution network is being installed, measuring 17.7 kilometers, which will allow 17 thousand new household connections.

He said that the new home connections will be supported by the Luachimo hydroelectric dam and the Lucapa photovoltaic plant, with production capacities of 34 and 7.7 megawatts, respectively.

ENDE in Lunda-Norte currently controls 23 thousand customers.
