Luanda – Atleast 839 means of transport, including motorbikes and mopeds in disuse, will be auctioned off on 12 March by the Luanda Provincial Finance Directorate to entrepreneurs in the metallurgy sector.
These are motorised vehicles seized by the Luanda Provincial Command of the National Police for violating the provisions of the Highway Code and other related legislation in force, according to Notice 1/2024 from the Ministry of Finance.
In a statement to which Angop had access, the Luanda Tax Office says that the 839 vehicles are motorbikes and mopeds for dismantling, as they are not fit for public circulation and have been seized for more than 90 days.
The base price for the public auction is set at 165,000.00 per tonne, and interested parties can consult it in the six days available before the deadline for submitting applications, set for 6 March. MDS/MRA/DOJ
