Luanda - A memorandum to boost economic cooperation, technology transfer and investment promotion was signed Wednesday in Luanda by the Angolan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Innovation Demonstration Park.

Under the memorandum, the two sides are required to give priority to cooperation in the agricultural sector, invite the Angolan side to propose a list of special products to be promoted in the Chinese market, as well as a list of demand for Chinese products in Angola.

The agreement also includes promoting the presence of Angolan companies in the China-Africa Pilot Zone for Deep Economic and Trade Cooperation, boosting cooperation in education and training in a targeted way, as well as using tourism as an entry point to jointly develop relevant products.

The ceremony was held by video conference and was signed by the president of the Angolan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vicente Soares, and the secretary-general of the Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Angola, Chen ZhenYu, witnessed by the deputy director of the Provincial Department of Commerce of the Chinese city of Hunan, Li Xinqiu.

Speaking at the event, Soares said that the memorandum covered several economic areas, notably trade and industry, with the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Innovation Demonstration Park being a pilot free trade zone of extreme importance for exhibition of several products in Chinese territory.

"This partnership, which begins today, also aims to transfer technology, exchange experience, training and the promotion of trade, with the intention of boosting the export of Angolan products to China," he noted.
