Cabinda – The deputy governor of Cabinda for the Technical Sector and Infrastructure, Agostinho da Silva, stated, last Wednesday, that the transfer of environmental licensing powers to municipal administrations will boost business activity at the level of this province.

When speaking at the seminar on Local Environmental Licensing Exercise, aimed at local institutions and entrepreneurs, the leader said that the initiative could put an end to excessive bureaucracy in obtaining licenses, as well as attracting more investors to the region.

Agostinho da Silva explained that, with the transfer of powers, municipal administrations will be able to license various projects, both public and private, such as fuel pumps, 4-storey buildings, beauty salons, bank branches, among others.

He called on national and foreign investors to respect environmental impact assessment studies before implementing any project in the province.

During the seminar, participants were informed about the process of decentralization and deconcentration of competences at various levels, the modern and current context of greatest probability in the organization, improvements in public services among other topics. ING/JFC/QCB/DOJ
