Luanda - The Republic of Angola and Japan today sign an agreement in the geology area, as part of the strengthening of bilateral relations and of encouraging investments of Japanese companies in exploration and development of metallic mineral resources in the country.
The deal will be signed by the Angolan the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, and Tetsuhiro Hosono, chairperson of Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC).
Under the memorandum to be signed, JOGMEC may also cooperate in the transfer of technology, using Satellite Image Analysis and Geographic Information System, according to a note from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas to which ANGOP had access.
The document mentions that information about oil and natural gas can also be exchanged, on a day also set aside for the signing of a Cooperation Protocol, by the Geological Institute of Angola (IGEO) and the JOGMEC.
This instrument will be initialled by the chairperson of the Board of Directors of IGEO, Canga Xiaquivuila and for JOGMEC its vice-chairperson Shimotori Horoshi.
