Luanda - Some African football legends attend Thursday, in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, the Confederation of African Football General Assembly and the draw (African zone) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be held from June 8 to July 19 in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

Among the guests are some of the continent's champions as well as famous players who have distinguished themselves at World Cups.

These include Senegal's Elhadji Diouf, Didier Drogba (Côte d'Ivoire), alongside notables such as Emmanuel Adebayor of Togo.

The list includes Jay Jay Okocha (Nigeria), Alexandre Song (Cameroon), Wael Gomaa (Egypt), Asamoah Gyan (Ghana), Khalilou Fadiga (Senegal), Geremi Njitap (Cameroon), Houssine Kharja (Morocco) and Youri Djorkaeff (France).

Ivorian legends such as Didier Zokora, Siaka Tiene, Aruna Dindane, Cyril Domoraud, Alain Gouamene, Abdoulaye Traore, Emmanuel Eboue, Ahmed Ouattara, Bonaventure Kalou and many others are also to be present in the ceremony.

The draw takes place at 4pm (Angolan time) live on CAF digital platforms and CAFONLINE.com, a few hours after the CAF 45th Ordinary Assembly.


Angola is present at the event with a delegation headed by the chairman of the Angola Football Federation, Artur Almeida e Silva and staff.  FN/amp/jmc
