Luanda - Angola beat the USA 24-8 on Friday in the second round of group H of the Junior Women's Handball World Championship taking place until June 31 in Skopje (Macedonia).
Angola confirmed their favoritism on the pitch, taking a 10-point lead at half-time (12-2).
In the second half, with the match under control, the coach of the African champions gave more playing time to the remaining players, and the victory was done.
Angola's captain, Bernadeth Belo, was elected MVP of the match.
In their opening match, Angola lost 19-24 to Iceland, while the Americans were thrashed 32-15 by hosts Macedonia.
The Angolan team is looking to improve the sixth place they achieved in Slovenia in 2022, the best ever by an African representative in a world event of this category.
