Luanda - The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) has announced the resumption of the National Football Championship (Girabola`2023-24) for the 9th, with the 12th round being played in various stadiums across the country.
According to the document which ANGOP had access to, the complete and updated schedule will be published in the weekly communiqué of the governing body, including the games that are overdue.
The competition was interrupted last December due to the National Team's participation in the African Championship (AFCON`2023), which ends on the 11th in Côte d`Ivoire.
The resumption of the national competition depended on how long Angola would be participating in the African event.
The national team was eliminated on Friday in the quarter-finals defeat by Nigeria (0-1), and on Sunday they returned to the country, where they were honored for their performance in the continental competition.
Girabola is led by Kabuscorp do Palanca, with 21 points, followed by Desportivo da Lunda Sul (9) and Petro de Luanda (17). MC/MRA/DOJ
