Luanda - Striker Gelson Dala was named “man of the match” in Angola's 3-0 victory over Namibia, in the round of 16 of CAN '2023, played Saturday at the Peace Stadium, in Bouaké (Côte d`Ivoire).

The Angolan striker scored with his feet, in the 39th minute, after a cross from Fredy, and with his head, in the 44th minute, again following a pass from the captain of the National Team that will challenge Nigeria, on Friday, in Abidjan, for the quarter-finals.

This is the second distinction for the Angolan international player in this competition, since he already was the man of the match on the 2nd round of the group stage (D), in which Angola beat Mauritania, 3-2.

In that match, the Al Wakrah player from Qatar had an exceptional performance, where he also scored two goals (in the 30th and 50th minutes).

Gelson Dala, 27 years old, was trained at the 1.º de Agosto academy (Angola club).

Overall, Angola already has three “man of the match” trophies. Central defender Kialonda Gaspar was also included.

This occurred after the last clash of the group stage, in which the National Team beat Burkina Faso, 2-0, qualifying for the round of 16 at the top of the group, with seven points. MC/CF/DOJ
