Luanda - The Angolan swimmer Catarina Sousa was eliminated on Wednesday, in the second round of the 100-meter freestyle in the Tokyo Olympic Games after finishing eighth and last position with a time of 59sec.35ths.

The podium in this pre-elimination was set with Mia Eminova of North Macedonia in first position with a time of 57sec and 19ths, Jillian Crooks (57.32) of the Cayman Islands, and Thailand's Jenjira Srisa (57.42), says the organization's website.

Angola sailing with duo Matias Montinho and Paixão Afonso, entered in action on Wednesday, after having dropped out in the first regatta, and the duo did not go beyond the 18th place in the second, among 19 competitors, and occupies the last position in the specialty 470 with 38 points, a race in which the winner is the one who gets the fewest points.

Australia has 7 points, New Zealand (8) and Spain 11 pts.
