Luanda - Samuel Eto'o, president of the Cameroon Football Federation, presented a resignation during a recent meeting in Yaoundé, but the Executive Committee of the local sports governing body rejected it and renewed confidence in the former Real Madrid and Barcelona player.
The Federation detailed in a statement "The members of the Executive Committee unanimously rejected the resignation of the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, renewing their confidence in him”. According to a note from the institution, the objective is to continue the work of reconstruction and development of Cameroonian football, from the base to the top. Eto'o's decision came after Cameroon's elimination in the round of 16 of CAN`2023, taking place in Côte d`Ivoire, where the “Indomitable Lions” were eliminated by Nigeria (0-2) and came close to not advance to the group stage.
