Luanda – The former Interclube footballer, Arsénio Ribeiro “Túbia”, stated on Saturday, in Luanda, that the National Team will need offensive consistency to reach the semi-finals of CAN'2023, which takes place in Côte d`Ivoire.

Speaking to ANGOP, after the round of 16 game, in which Angola beat Namibia for 3-0, at the Peace Stadium, in Bouaké, he said that the attackers lack coolness when it comes to finishing.

Maintaining possession of the ball and maximum concentration are also fundamental elements to aim for victories in high competition, according to the assistant coach of the Interclube senior football team.

For the former striker, it is still important that players and the technical team continue to believe that it is possible to go far in this CAN '2023, no matter the opponents they face.

For Túbia, any opponent will feel pressure because Angola managed to make history by qualifying for the quarter-finals and going undefeated.

Regarding Saturday's clash (27) with Namibia, the former athlete stressed that the national coach, Pedro Gonçalves, was intelligent when making the substitutions, after the goalkeeper's red card, Neblú, in the 17th minute.

By not changing the tactical structure and the three advanced players, he intimidated the Namibians, and they were unable to carry out the offensive game with ease.

In turn, Romeu Filemon, Angola former coach, emphasized that Angola was fantastic, played a lot as a team and with better offensive organization.

According to him, for a team that reaches the quarter-finals with the number of goals scored it has, it could surprise positively in the following stages.

Angola will face Nigeria on Friday, in the quarter-finals, thanks to their 2-0 victory over Cameroon.

This is the third time Angola reached the quarter-finals of this CAF nations competition, after the 2008 (Ghana) and 2010 (Angola) editions, at the time there were no round of 16 in the regulations. BSV/MC/CF/DOJ
