Luanda – The Keve bank on Monday in Luanda fulfilled its promise to the Angola football team by offering eight million Kwanzas for each player and member of the coaching staff, as part of their participation in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON`2023) taking place in Côte d`Ivoire until 11 February.

The bank's promise which particularly benefits 24 athletes and 14 coaches, made the institution to disburse 304 million Kwanzas to reward the national team that came close to reaching the unprecedented semi-final, despite the defeat against Nigeria (0-1) in the quarter-finals.

 The symbolic handover ceremony, held at the bank's headquarters in the capital city of Luanda, was attended by Fredy, Dominique and Jonathan Buatu, flanked by the bank's administrator, Efigênia Tonha.

 At the time, the captain of the national team, Alfredo Ribeiro "Fredy", thanked the bank for the gesture, as the team needs incentives, in good times and bad.

 According to the Palancas Negras striker, the participation in AFCON`2023 was a success, but at this point we are already thinking about the World Cup qualifiers.

 "We want to keep dreaming that we can get to the FIFA World Cup in 2026," he emphasised.

 Fredy said that he couldn't describe how well the team had been received at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, nor the homage paid by the local population.

 Fredy said that speechless towards the way they were received at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, as well as the homage to them by the population due to the AFCON´2023 compaign and ensured that hard working to dignifying the national flag.

 In turn, the administrator of the bank, Efigênia Tonha said that her institution have the objective to support sports, culture and education as part of their social strategy.

 She said that Keve bank will continue supporting sports anytime it is possible, as is already the case with the swimming event called the Luanda International Meeting.

 In the Nations Cup, Angola were eliminated on Friday in the quarter-finals by Nigeria, losing 0-1.

 In 2008, in Ghana, and in 2010, in Angola, the Sable Antelope were also among the eight best teams on the continet. BSV/MC/MRA/DOJ
