Cacuaco - Athletes of different adapted sports will be benefiting from scholarships as of 2024 as part of a specific scholarships for sports practice programme, the Angolan Paralympics Committee chairperson, Leonel da Rocha Pinto, said on Thursday.
The idea, Pinto said, is to support the training of paralympic athletes by giving them the necessary support to cope with the demanding international sporting reality, underlining that psycho-technical tests are among the evaluation selection criteria.
The training course aims to provide participants with tools to improve professional performance in their areas.
Aimed at heads and general secretaries of the provincial sports associations for people with disabilities in the 18 provinces of the country, the course was extended to include staff of the National Sports Directorate, National Directorate of Special Education and the Olympic Academy.
