Luanda – The Angolan senior female National Handball Team on Thursday lost 29-30 to the France squad in Group D’s first round of the World Cup being organised jointly by Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
The Angolan ladies (African champions) put up a good posture against the vice champions, the Frecnh counterparts, which reflected in the satisfactory result of the first half (15-18 in favour of the latter).
Angola lost the game for small mistakes and some technical imperfection, having even missed the opportunity to tie the match in a last minute attempt.
Angola’s Azenaide Carlos was elected MVP of the game, whereas Isabel Guialo (the captain of the Angolan squad) was best scorer with six goals.
The national team will face Slovenia on Saturday, for the second round.
