Luanda - The national senior men's basketball team lost, this Thursday, at the Smart Arena Coliseum pavilion (Manila), to the similar team from China, by 76-83, in a game to define position 17th to the 32nd place of the 19th edition of the World Championship, which takes place in Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia.
After a brilliant start in which they won the first quarter, 24-17, the national team then lost momentum and were gradually outdone by the opponent, mainly from the second period onwards, in which they opted for zone defence.
Childe Dundão, with 17 points, was Angola's best scorer.
With this result, the African champions will face South Sudan on Saturday, whose victory appears to be essential to maintain the objective of direct qualification for the French Olympic Games "Paris`2024".
South Sudan are playing the Philippines today.
