Angolan national football team shows maturity after CAN

Luanda - The Angolan National Football Team appeared more mature against Morocco, after AFCON 2023, despite the 0-1 defeat, in the FIFA game held at the Moroccan Stadium in Agadir, the Secretary of State for Football Sports, Teresa Ulundo, acknowledged.

Speaking to ANGOP last Saturday, on the occasion of the closure of the children's football quadrangular, played at the Cidadela Stadium, the official said that the evolution and sense of responsibility were visible, with a good performance expected in future commitments.

She stated that the defensive solidity in a world-class opponent's arena, as well as the understanding between the sectors, demonstrated a more solid team, with good chanes of qualifying for AFCON 2025, precisely in Morocco, and in the 2026 World Championship, to be held in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada.

Teresa Ulundo guaranteed that the players and the national technical team, led by the Portuguese Pedro Gonçalves, will continue to receive support and monitoring from the Government, to achieve double qualification.

In the AFCON 2023 in Côte d' Ivoire, Angola qualified for the quarter-finals for the 3rd time, after the Ghana' 2008 and Angola' 2010 editions. JAD/IN/MC/CF/DOJ
