Luanda - The National Football Team drew 0-0 on Tuesday, against its counterpart from DR Congo, at the Bonfim stadium, in the Portuguese city of Setúbal, in a friendly match on the last FIFA date of the year.

This is the eighth clash between the two teams since 2006, in which the Palancas Negras (nickname of the Angolan national team) were looking for their first triumph.

The Congolese, on the other hand, were trying for their sixth victory, after having won the previous ones, by 2-1 (4-2), (2-1), (2-0) and 1-0.

They drew 0-0 on two occasions. This is the third friendly match since the Angolans qualified for the 34th edition of the African Nations Championship (CAN’204), to be played from January 13th to February 11th.

The first took place in Tehran, against Iran, with a 0-4 defeat and a draw (1-1), with a similar result in Mozambique, also in Portugal. In the 2024 CAN, Angola is part of group D, alongside Algeria, Burkina Faso and Mauritania, while DR Congo is in series F, with Morocco, Tanzania and Zambia. VAB/TED/DOJ
