Angola competes in African judo in Cairo

Luanda – The senior judo team, both in male and female category, will start this Wednesday competing in the African Championships in Cairo, Egypt.

To this end, the national team have been in the city of the competition since Monday with 16 athletes, eight male and eight female.

In the qualifying match for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, despite this qualification, Angola also focus on improving on the third place won in 2023 in Morocco.

The national team is made up of Leonardo Meneses de Barros, in the (-60) category, Edmilson Pedro (-66kg), António Candiero (-73kg), Rodrigo Fernando (-73kg), Santos Sebastião (-81kg), Adriano Tchissende (-90kg), Martinho Macuva (-90kg) and Piter Silva (+100kg) in the men's category, while in the women's category are Aicha Maurício (-52kg), Andreza Antônio (-57kg), Geovana Freire (-57kg), Maria Niangui (-70kg), Olga Bento (-70kg), Aicha Rebeca (-78kg), Joaquina da Silva and Crislaine Rodrigues (+78kg).
