Luanda - 1º de Agosto qualified on Monday night for the quarter-finals of the 2024 African Senior Women's Handball Clubs Championship, which takes place in Layaaoune, Morocco, by beating FAP of Cameroon, by 31- 24.
The Angolans were already leading the match at half-time by 18-14.
With this triumph, 1º de Agosto await their opponents in the quarter-finals, which begin to be played on Wednesday.
In their debut, the “military” (1º de Agosto's nickname) lost to ASFS from Tunisia by 26-28, but then beat HB from Abidjan, 28-25.
The other Angolan representative in this 45th Edition of the African clubs competition, Petro de Luanda will only play on Tuesday (Oct 15) at 5 pm, against A.Nziko from Camarões, at the end of the regular phase of group C.
