Caxito – One hundred and fifty families from the communities of Cabunga and Cumi, in the municipality of Dande, Bengo province, received today agricultural seeds and fertilizers from the Turkish embassy in Angola.
The offer aim of supporting a pilot project to be developed by the NGO AVIDA, an Angolan partner of the Turkish Development and Cooperation Agency (TIKA).
The province of Bengo is the first in the country to have the support of the NGO AVIDA which, according to its chairperson, Mustafa Capuepue, intends to identify other segments in the community to develop.
In a message, the beneficiaries stressed that the seeds and fertilizers will help leverage agricultural production in the communities.
The governor of Bengo, Maria Nelumba, referred to the importance of the project and stressed that the positive results of its implementation will allow it to be extended to other communities and benefit more families.
Turkey's ambassador to Angola, Ufuk Ekici, praised the good relations between the two countries and said he hoped the project would be successful so that it could be replicated in other areas. CJ/IF/DOJ
