Cachiungo – At least three beekeepers' cooperatives in Cachiungo municipality, in central Huambo province, were legalized on Thursday under the anti-poverty program to improve the production of honey and other agricultural crops.
Paulo Moma Kondomboque , local administrator, said the cooperatives are located at Kapala and Lonundu and Vila Verde villages, which covered the initiative under the various supports of the aforementioned program.
With this legalization, the administrator said, the cooperatives are able to access bank credit to diversify the income and the economy.
Founded on November 7, 1913, Cachiungo municipality, with a territorial extension of 2,947 square kilometers, has three communes (Chinhama, Chiumbo and Sede), with an estimated population of 169,123 inhabitants. ZZN/JSV/ALH/TED/AMP
