Luanda – Angolan president João Lourenço on Thursday issued a decree authorizing a supplementary remuneration of 30,000 kwanzas for civil servants and administrative agents in the general civil service system.
According to a press release, the decree establishes that staff in the teaching career in higher education and scientific researchers should receive a supplementary remuneration of 495 282.40 Kwanzas for full professors, Akz 451 060.75 for associates, Akz 424 527.77 for assistants, Akz 397 994.78 (assistants) and Akz 336 084.48 (trainee assistants).
Scientific Researcher
For scientific researchers, the decree determines an amount of Akz 495 282.40 for coordinator, Akz 451 060.75 (principal), Akz 424 527.77 (assistant), Akz 397 994.78 (assistant) and Akz 336 084.48 (trainee).
The presidential decree also states that military doctors and health personnel can opt for the remuneration system of the staff part of the respective professional careers of the civilian staff.
It states that the adjustment of basic civil service salaries, approved in February, aims to guarantee greater administrative efficiency and improve the quality of public services provided to citizens.
The one-off adjustment is in line with the goals set out in the Roadmap for the Implementation of the New Remuneration Architecture for the Public Administration (RINAR), approved on October 30, 2023, the note explains. VIC/AMP
